Anton Bilchik MD Explains Treatment Options for Colon Cancer

Based on what stage of colon cancer a patient has there are different treatment options that can be explored to help eliminate the tumor and cancerous cells. Dr. Anton Bilchik, MD knows the importance of knowing all of your options so you can be informed every step of the way. At Stage 0 (Carcinoma in Situ), treatment can be done by local excision or with a simple polypectomy. At Stages I and II, a patient will likely undergo resection and anastomosis. Stage III patients can have chemotherapy after resection and anastomosis and at Stage IV a new host of surgeries is available depending on the location and magnitude of the cancer.
