In February 2017, the Journal of the National Career Institute released a study that showed an increased rate of colon cancer patients between 20 and 30 years old. This new insight has sparked many questions as to why this was occurring. Although no definitive answer has yet to be made, doctors have stressed the importance of early diagnosis. When CheatSheet.com decided to publish an article about the most common risk factors that every young adult should know about, they reached out to Dr. Anton Bilchik for his expertise. During the interview he stated that smoking and heavy alcohol use could be contributing factors. He commented,

“Both smoking and drinking should be avoided and alcohol only [consumed] in moderation — no more than one or two drinks per day.”
