“I could not speak more highly of Dr Bilchik. When I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer, he explained to me the options for surgery very clearly, and with considerable reassurance, so I was happy to go along with his own recommendation. At all stages of treatment, before the surgery and after, Dr Bilchik was both clear in his communication with me and agreeable to engage with. Not only is he outstanding in every way but he also brings in a remarkable team. I could not have been blessed with a better surgeon during this very challenging time of my life and cannot thank him enough.”

“I am so grateful for people like Dr. Bilchik who are using their talent and abilities to improve the lives of others. He is really a one-of-a-kind human–I can’t say enough good about him. Aside from being an amazing Dr.–as a person he is intelligent, thoughtful, kind and generous. He works diligently to improve human health inside his practice and beyond–I encourage everyone to take a look at his practice website and the charities he has spearheaded, including innovative ways to promote cancer screening that have never been done before.”

“This doctor’s miraculous surgical techniques removed a giant liver tumor fused with my diaphram from my abdominal area. His skill is incredible and I was up and about quickly with minimal pain.

It is an emotional experience to know my children get to keep their mom because of the skill of a complete stranger. Less brave surgeons would have looked at the delicate placement of this tumor and sent me to hospice. I am truly and forever grateful to Dr Bilchik for using his brilliant mind to heal. On the first consult he expressed both empathy and confidence he could fix me—which was very reassuring to me, the scared and pain-wracked patient.

Dr Bilchik’s skill is amazing. I did my research online to find the world’s best oncology surgeon and pushed my GP to refer me to him. My recovery at Providence St John’s Hospital was smooth and the nurses are remarkably kind and attentive.”

“Regarding my surgery with Dr. Bilchik. When I first met Dr. Bilchik I knew he was the physician I wanted for my upcoming surgery. He diagnosed my condition and explained in detail how he would operate. His manner and concern for the welfare of his patients assured me I was in good hands. The surgery was quite long and involved and lasted over 6 hours and didn’t finish until past 9pm that evening. However at 4am when I awoke Dr. Bilchik was in my hospital room to assure me everything had gone well and the hardest part was over. It has been 3 months now and I am able to return to a normal routine with no restrictions. Dr. Green who assisted in the surgery was also very capable and helped to monitor my recovery during my hospital stay. I have no reservations writing this review.”

“Dr Bilchik and his team saved my life for which I can’t thank Dr Bilchik enough.

On Labor Day, I had a severe Diverticulitis attack where my temperature soared to 103 and my WBC to over 20,000.

I was admitted at the St Johns/Providence emergency room in Santa Monica that evening and was in the hospital for 10 days, fighting the bacteria infection and Sepsis. (blood infection)

Dr Bilchik and the team were monitoring my vitals and continued to stress the importance of the process to get me strong in order to have surgery to remove the sigmoid intestine. Dr Bilchik would not operate until all my vitals and overall strength dramatically improved, as the stronger I was going into the surgery, the better the surgery and recovery would be.

I am a former sub 4 minute miler, world class runner, university of Oregon hall of famer in Cross Country and had never been this sick in my life. An all new and scary experience.

Being an active person and former athlete I was very impatient during this process but Dr Bilchik kept reassuring me to be patient as he had the plan and schedule to make me better.

Dr Bilchik, did an amazing job in prepping me for the surgery , when the day came I was ready.
The Robotic Sigmoid Surgery lasted just over 5 hours. I came out of surgery doing well. The rehab and recovery starts now.

Once again, I want to thank Dr Bilchik, Dr Weiss, Dr Young and the entire team, including Erika, on the process, the prep on getting me ready for surgery, the successful surgery and getting me back to having a healthy life.

THANKS!”

“Dr. Bilchik and his staff are wonderful! I am the 3rd person in my family to have undergone a cancer surgery performed by him. What we love most about Dr. Bilchik is his honesty, thoroughness, and how he really breaks it down to you in such a way that you can understand. My brother had a pancreatic mass and Dr. Bilchik recommended a Whipple procedure. The name alone seemed so overwhelming. Dr. Bilchik took the time to explain the procedure and even drew a diagram. Before the surgery he put my brother in touch with another patient who underwent the same procedure. Hearing her experience from start to finish, convinced my brother to have Dr. Bilchik perform his procedure. A few years later my sister had breast cancer and already made up in her mind Dr. Bilchik would be her surgeon. He referred her to a genetics counselor as well as my brother. Two years later, I became a patient of Dr. Bilchik’s and also had breast cancer. The day I received the news I had cancer, I immediately called Dr. Bilchik’s office and got an appointment the same day. The following week I had surgery. It’s been 18 months and I am living life and still volunteering. My sister is back to gardening and my brother the world traveler, is doing what he loves doing best. We all are very grateful to be alive, and received treatment by one of the greatest cancer surgeons in the country. We love the work Dr. Bilchik is doing in cancer research and in the community to help raise cancer awareness and educate disadvantage and underserved populations who are at greater risk of getting cancer. The work he is doing is very touching and has inspires us to help spread the word about cancer prevention and early detection. Now, take it from the three of us that Dr. Bilchik is highly recommended and we can vouch that he is highly skilled, well educated, experienced, and is the real deal. Thank God, for this wonderful and compassionate surgeon!”
