Anton Bilchik Explains How Liver Cancer Can Develop

Liver cancer occurs as either a primary or secondary cancer, meaning that it could originate from the liver or come from another organ. Anton Bilchik explains that primary liver cancer can be associated with hepatitis, alcohol and obesity. This may be preventable by increasing physical activity and reducing caloric intake. Obesity has become an epidemic and as a result the need for liver transplantation is increasing in some patients who have irreversible liver damage related to obesity. Liver resection and better systemic chemotherapy has doubled the survival in patients with liver metastases from colon cancer.
