Anton Bilchik MD Gives Tips on Preparing for Your Appointment

If you are diagnosed with a cancer it is likely you will be referred to a specialist surgeon to discuss removal of the cancer. This can be very stressful to both you and your family. Before your appointment, Dr. Anton Bilchik, MD, suggests you be prepared and that this can significantly reduce the stress involved. Write down questions you want to ask and bring a family member or friend with you for support throughout the process. It is also reasonable to ask the doctor if you can record the conversation. Although the internet can provide general information about your cancer it may cause unnecessary anxiety and what you read may not directly relate to you. Dr Bilchik says that a good cancer physician is a far more reliable source of information and will put you at ease.
