3 Most Common Types of Cancer Women Get

While cancer is a friend to no one, and every person is fair game, there are some types of cancer that are more prevalent in women than in men. In some cases, race is a factor. No matter what risk factors you may or may not have, the news of a diagnosis is always difficult to handle. The most common form of cancer in women is breast cancer, regardless of race. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), it is the most common cause of death for women of Hispanic descent and the second most common cause of death for women of white, black, American Indian, Alaskan natives and Asian Pacific women.

The second most common form of cancer for white, black, American Indian/Alaska Native and Hispanic women is lung cancer. This disease is the third most common form of cancer for women of Asian Pacific descent. In 2010, the CDC reported that 93,980 women were diagnosed with the disease and 70,550 died from it in that same year.

Colorectal cancer is the third most common form of cancer for women of all races. It is the second deadliest cancer for men and women.
