A Cancer Vaccine?

A recent study published in Nature Medicine discusses a “vaccine” given to patients with lymphoma who went into full remission some years after receiving the treatment. The “vaccine uses” the immune system itself to help eliminate the tumors. 

What makes this study so exciting and important is that it further reinforces the fact that immunotherapy is likely to be more effective when you use a combination approach. The fact that this vaccine is allowing the other immune mechanisms to fight cancer is very, very exciting. – Dr. Anton Bilchik
