Follow-Ups Recommended for Those With Pancreatic Cysts

Stable or not, patients with pancreatic cysts are recommended to receive long-term follow-ups due to the lingering risk of cyst growth, surgery and cancer, according to a recent research study conducted by the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA).

During an interview with Reuters Health, Dr. Anton Bilchik was asked to comment on the research, in which he stated,

“Pancreatic cysts are being detected more often because of significant improvements in body imaging. Most of them are benign.“
